Shatuga (aka Mike) Landis – Techno-nut
I do the skin work! I do other stuff, too, of course. Site organization. Planning. Usability testing. A bit of search engine work. Skin works takes the bulk of my time, though. I hate to say it, but CSS mastery requires programming skill: Understanding of inheritance, structure, abstraction – things that you’re average person just doesn’t and shouldn’t want to get caught doing.
I do some graphics and logo work, and some photography if absolutely necessary, but I prefer to find professionals who are excellent at those tasks. It’s more expensive to do it that way though. If your budget allows and you want to have a really amazing site, you’ll need to find the best to do different parts of your site. I can help coordinate that effort, much as a contractor finds the best person at putting in a wooden staircase.
I like to think I’m good at helping clients take a cacophonous confusion of ideas and organize them into some degree of presentability, too. Particularly among the clientele in Asheville… well.. let’s go head for the Brew & View to see what’s going on, then maybe we’ll be thinking more clearly.
What makes Asheville so special to me is its people. The way they take you as you are, for the most part. It’s an attitude of openness. Can-Do. Not afraid to work hard. But maybe we don’t all have the neatest offices. However, on the web, your presence needs to be organized. Cause, while you might not be able to find stuff in your office, you can bet your customers want to find stuff easily on your site.
My main guide is Steve Krugg’s Don’t Make Me Think. It’s an excellent tool to guide any web design effort. Let me design yours! Please?
Paula Bishop – Graphics Flair-adder
Paula-style. You know it when you see it for its distinctiveness. She’s especially good at creating a soft, dreamy ethos to your presentation. She adds warmth, spiritual depth, and grace.
And we’re gonna have some pictures of us up here soon too!
